University Challenge returned to BBC 2 last night, just when the World Cup was over..great timing!
The BBC tend to pick a cracking episode to start the series and they didn't disappoint this series. Manchester, who we followed in the documentary selecting the teams earlier in the month, took on Selwyn Cambridge. The game was very to and fro from the early stages but some very wreckless buzzing from Manchester, coupled with some cracking answers from Selwyn (particularly captain Pugh Ginn) was enough to give Selwyn the victory. With 160 Manchester could well be back but Selwyn look like a very strong contender already!
