Celebrity Mastermind - Episode 9
Just before the double header of the Mastermind 2012 series, the ninth and penultimate episode of Celebrity Mastermind went out tonight.

Jacqui Smith went out first and answered on The Archers since 1980, something I have no idea about. She scored a very impressive 14 points and was calm and collected and already she would take some beating.
Nathaniel Parker had something closer to my own interest with the Marx Brothers and again he knew his subject with a quite easy set of questions scoring 13 points placing him in very close contention.
Jason Manford, who I do not find funny at all, was next answering questions on Quantum Leap, something else I am familiar with. I think he had a much harder set than Parker and some of the questions were tough but Manford did well managing to score 9. Still in contention and maybe if he didn't joke so much he could have done better. A good score indeed.
Erin Boag was last taking a broad subject on the history of New Zealand and much harder questions than anyone else, and perhaps anyone else in the series, shown in her 6 points. A tough and brave choice of questions by Erin Boag though credit to her for trying.

Erin Boag was thus first out in her General Knowledge round and faced a nice set of questions but failed to get some easy posers and ended up with just 9 for the general knowledge. Jason Manford needed a great round to win the Celebrity Mastermind title, he got very very easy questions but still only managed to get a lowly six points just tying him with Boag for last.
Nathaniel Parker came to the seat knowing he would be taking the lead but it was merely a question of what score he could set Jacqui Smith. He managed a solid 11 putting him on 24 points leaving Smith with a target of 11 to win out right.
Jacqui Smith herself got off to a solid start in her round but had a few stutters early on meaning the race for tonight's Celebrity Mastermind title was going to be tight. She tied in the dying moments and got the final question just on the buzzer to take the title tonight in a very good win with the highest score in both rounds.

Another good episode of Celebrity Mastermind and the show ends on Sunday in what has been a fun 10 episode run. Now onto the main Mastermind itself and a double helping tonight..........
