Perfection - New Series - Episode 1

Perfection - New Series - Episode 1

I somehow managed to miss this show last time it was on, so was very much looking forward to watching Perfection on BBC 2 as it begins a new 30 episode run and in all I really enjoyed the show and would recommend it to any quiz fans! A day of packed quiz shows on TV has started well.

Nick Knowles fronts the game show which airs at 4.30pm on BBC 2 running for 45 minutes. There are 4 players per game with one selected at random to play alone whilst the three become "The Usual Suspects" and play against you. The idea of Perfection is basically answering  a series of True and False questions, getting them all right and completing in a final round. Each game consists of three rounds of four questions, getting all four will allow you to pick subjects for your final round whereas should you fail and be beaten by the "Usual Suspects" they choose subjects for you. You can then "buy" their help in the final round.

The questions are well pitched, gets the brain working and are not too obscure. Sometimes I am not a fan of True or False style questions as they tend to be whacky things no one will know, added to quizzes etc to try and give everyone a chance of some points. But these questions on Perfection I really really like. They cover areas quizzers will know about, they aren't too outrageous and they do try to catch you out if you are not paying attention. Its fast paced, there isn't too much filler and there is bound to be something you will learn from watching it. Perfection really has impressed me and its now on my Sky Plus to record the series as unfortunately I dont get home till around six. The BBC though have done a great job here and this format would work brilliant as a National Lottery show as its one all the family can play and makes great viewing.

Perfection is certainly the kind of show I would very much like to appear on. I will be hunting down the application forms online for sure.

On tonights episode of Perfection Vickie was first up. She scored 2 in all her rounds meaning that the Perfection Usual Suspects picked all her categories. She played a good final but failed to take the £4,000 on two questions and was offered little help from the opposition. Michael played then followed a similar theme and had all his final questions picked. He seemed to do quite a lot of guessing. Aubery and Jessica wouldn't help him in the Perfection Final, and Bob asked for £3,000 to help him out, was accepted and failed with a question on Kate Middletons Mother being an air stewardess (True) which Bob changed from Michaels original.

Perfection will be a hard show to win money on but with the series jackpot up to £6,000 already we are bound to see someone win a hefty amount of money this series and I certainly will be watching!
